Assigning Custom Domains
Use custom domains to create branded tracking links that build trust with your audience.
Prerequisites
Before assigning a custom domain to a link:
Add and verify the custom domain in the Custom Domains section
Complete DNS configuration
Wait for SSL certificate provisioning
Ensure domain status shows as "Active"
Assigning a Domain
To assign a custom domain to a tracking link:
Open the link creation or edit form
Find the "Custom Domain" dropdown
Select your configured domain from the list
Save the link
Your tracking URL will now use the selected custom domain:
Before: https://[username].clickervolt.com/summer-sale
After: https://yourdomain.com/summer-sale
Using Multiple Domains
You can configure multiple custom domains and assign different domains to different links. This is useful for:
Separating client campaigns
Running different brands or offers
A/B testing domain credibility
Organizing campaigns by traffic source
Understanding Domain Selection
The custom domain dropdown in the link form is for convenience when copying your tracking URL. However, your links will work with ANY of your configured custom domains or your default domain.
This means you can:
Copy a link URL and manually change the domain to any of your custom domains
Use your default domain ([username].clickervolt.com) even if you selected a custom domain
Share the same link with different domains - they all work
The domain you select in the form simply determines which URL is displayed when you copy the link.
Default Domain
If you don't select a custom domain, links will use your default ClickerVolt domain ([username].clickervolt.com). This works immediately without any setup.
Advanced Topics
Domain Cost
Custom domains cost $1 per month per domain. You can add as many domains as needed, and billing is automatically calculated based on active domains.
SSL Certificates
All custom domains automatically get free SSL certificates. This ensures your tracking links use HTTPS for security and trust.
Removing a Domain
If you remove a custom domain:
The domain stops redirecting immediately
Links in the database are updated (custom_domain_id set to null)
Your links will still work using your default domain ([username].clickervolt.com)
Update your campaigns to use your default domain or a different custom domain before removing
Domain Reputation
Keep your custom domains in good standing by only using them for legitimate marketing. Spam or abuse can result in domain blacklisting by ad platforms.
