Managing Payment Methods
Securely store and manage payment methods for quick credit purchases and auto-reload. ClickerVolt uses Stripe for payment processing, ensuring your financial information remains secure and encrypted.
Adding a Payment Method

The Stripe payment form will appear. Enter your card information:

Step 3: Set as Default (Optional)

Managing Existing Payment Methods
Viewing Saved Methods
All saved payment methods appear in the Payment Methods section, showing the last 4 digits, brand (Visa, Mastercard, etc.), and expiration date.
Setting a Default Method
Click "Set as Default" next to any saved payment method. The default method is used for auto-reload and quick one-click purchases.
Removing Payment Methods
Click "Remove" to delete a saved payment method. You cannot remove the default payment method if auto-reload is enabled - disable auto-reload or set a different default first.
Security and Privacy
PCI Compliance
All payment data is handled by Stripe, a PCI DSS Level 1 certified payment processor. Your card information is encrypted and tokenized, never stored in plain text.
What ClickerVolt Stores
ClickerVolt only stores a secure token from Stripe, along with the last 4 digits, card brand, and expiration date for display purposes. Full card numbers are never accessible to ClickerVolt.
Stripe Token System
When you add a payment method, Stripe generates a secure token (starts with "pm_") that represents your card. ClickerVolt stores only this token. To charge your card, ClickerVolt sends the token to Stripe, which processes the payment. Even if ClickerVolt's database were compromised, your actual card details would remain secure with Stripe.
Updating Expired Cards
When a card expires, add the new card with updated expiration date. Stripe may automatically update card details for some card issuers without requiring manual updates.

Advanced Topics
Multiple Payment Methods
Store multiple payment methods to switch between personal and business cards, or to have backup options if a card fails. Only one method can be set as default at a time. The default payment method is used for auto-reload and quick one-click purchases.
International Payments
ClickerVolt accepts cards from all countries supported by Stripe (135+ countries). Payments are processed in USD, and your card issuer handles currency conversion if needed. Some international cards may be declined due to fraud protection - contact your bank to allow international transactions if you experience issues.
Payment Method Verification
Some banks require 3D Secure (SCA - Strong Customer Authentication) verification when adding a card for fraud prevention. Follow the prompts from your bank to complete verification - this typically involves receiving a code via SMS, authenticating in your banking app, or confirming the transaction in your bank's online portal. This is a security measure required by your bank, not ClickerVolt.
Saved Payment Method Security
When you save a payment method, ClickerVolt stores only a secure token from Stripe along with display information (last 4 digits, brand, expiration). Your full card number, CVV, and other sensitive details are never accessible to ClickerVolt. All payment data is encrypted and stored by Stripe in compliance with PCI DSS Level 1 standards.
Invoice and Tax Information
Update your billing address and company information in Account Settings. This information appears on invoices and receipts for all purchases (both manual and auto-reload). Changes apply to future transactions only, not past purchases. Ensure this information is accurate for tax compliance and accounting purposes.
Removing Your Default Payment Method
To remove your default payment method: First, set a different card as default, OR disable auto-reload if enabled. You cannot remove the default payment method while auto-reload is active, as this would prevent automatic charges from succeeding.
