Viewing Raw Events and Visitor Details
While aggregate statistics show campaign performance, the raw events view provides granular, visitor-level data. This powerful tool lets you see exactly what happened with each click and conversion, including device info, location, referrers, and more.
Accessing Raw Events
From the statistics dashboard, click on any link to view its details, then click the "View Raw Events" button. This opens a slider panel showing all click and conversion events for that link.
Event Types
Click Events
Each row represents a single click on your tracking link. Shows timestamp, visitor ID, device info, location, referrer, and which target the visitor was sent to.
Conversion Events
Marked with a special indicator, conversion events show when a visitor completed your conversion goal. Includes conversion type (main or custom event 1-10), revenue, and attribution to the original click.
Visitor Information
Each event displays:
Visitor ID: Unique identifier for tracking repeat visits
Timestamp: Exact date and time of the event
IP Address: Visitor's IP (anonymized for privacy)
Country/City: Geolocation data
Device Type: Desktop, mobile, or tablet
Operating System: Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, etc.
Browser: Chrome, Safari, Firefox, etc.
Referrer: Where the visitor came from
User Agent: Full browser identification string
Common Use Cases
Fraud Detection
Look for suspicious patterns like many clicks from the same IP, bot traffic (unusual user agents), or clicks without referrers. Use this data to identify and block fraudulent traffic sources.
Traffic Source Verification
Check referrer data to verify traffic is coming from expected sources. If you're buying Facebook ads but see referrers from unknown sites, your traffic may be fraudulent.
Device and Browser Testing
Identify which devices and browsers your visitors use. If many visitors use mobile but your landing page isn't mobile-optimized, that could explain low conversion rates.
Conversion Troubleshooting
When conversions aren't tracking, use raw events to verify clicks are being recorded and check if conversion events are appearing. This helps diagnose tracking setup issues.
Filtering and Searching
The raw events view includes filters for:
Date range: Show events within specific timeframes
Event type: Show only clicks or only conversions
Visitor ID: Find all events for a specific visitor
Country/Device: Filter by geolocation or device type
Visitor Journey Tracking
Click on any Visitor ID to see that visitor's complete journey across all your tracking links. This reveals:
Multiple clicks on the same or different links
Which targets they saw across different rotation tests
Time between clicks and conversions
Whether they're a repeat visitor or first-time clicker
Advanced Topics
Bot Detection
ClickerVolt uses browser fingerprinting and behavioral analysis to identify bots. Raw events show a "Bot Score" indicator - high scores suggest automated traffic. Review these events to assess traffic quality.
Cross-Device Tracking
ClickerVolt supports full cross-device tracking through the cvid parameter. When you include a visitor ID in your tracking link (e.g., ?cvid=v_abc123), the system loads the visitor's complete profile from the database and synchronizes their Progressive Exposure state and funnel position to any device they use.
This is especially useful for email and SMS campaigns where you want to maintain continuity across devices. Without cvid, visitors are tracked per-device based on cookies. With cvid, the same visitor can seamlessly continue their journey from mobile to desktop while maintaining all targeting and funnel state.
Data Retention
Raw event data is retained for 90 days by default. Aggregate statistics are kept permanently. Export raw events if you need long-term visitor-level data for compliance or analysis.
Privacy Considerations
IP addresses are collected but anonymized in the database for privacy compliance. ClickerVolt does not store personally identifiable information beyond anonymous visitor tracking. Raw event data should be handled according to your privacy policy.
